While not being able to sleep much we did rest/relax for an easy get up. As the other camp goers packed up and left, it was a quiet morning. After packing up, we left the campground an hour or so before our noon check out constraint.
Liz took the wheel for the day and got her footing by firstly leaving the Parkway, accidentally, and once we quickly realized headed back and hopped on the parkway. The first stop, at a visitors center, gave historical detail of the BRP and the creation of it. A road designed to be recreational, to show the American landscape. An economic boost to the areas it lies within during the great depression.
After cruising for a while and Loki finally settling in, we wanted to stop for gasoline and grub, so we left the parkway to Floyd, VA. Refilled the tank, stopped and shared a stromboli and fries at Casey's pizza house, and grabbed a charging cable for my phone. Once filled up on grease we hopped back on the parkway.
At approximately 3pm we decided to stop and camp for the night at Rocky Knob, loop C spot 19. Only a few people were around, thankfully, as we set up for the evening enjoying the space and temperature. While testing out the hammock turned into a nap.
This night much quieter than the last, as we all drifted off to sleep around 9pm.
